Given the impact COVID-19 has had on small businesses in the city of Cleveland, our 2021 program is built to allow us to help even more businesses. Entrepreneurs will be competing in a pitch competition with the pool of available funds being sourced from the business community across Northeast Ohio. BIG THANKS to our 2021 Funders: Huntington Bank, JumpStart and Cleveland Neighborhood Progress.

Our slogan is “Cleveland’s Own Helping Cleveland’s Own.” And we would love to have you be a part of our program and play a key role in helping the small business across our region not just survive but to thrive well into the future. Position your brand among other organizations focused on building our community and building a Greater Cleveland for all!

In 2019, JumpStart Inc. and Greater Cleveland Partnership served as lead investors, with each pledging $125,000 to invest in the winning small businesses. The partners also created a set a standard terms for all of the businesses receiving an investment.

Prior to that, we were fortunate to have private investors willing to commit $100K of personal capital to invest in the winning companies.

Over $1.5M has been directly invested in small businesses through the first three seasons of Chain Reaction, which took place in Slavic Village (2017), Old Brooklyn (2018), and Collinwood (2019).

Cleveland Chain Reaction thanks these investors for their past involvement with this neighborhood economic development project. We look forward to continued participation from them and others moving forward!
